Wellbeing and Mental Health

We are constantly aware of physical pain whether we fall, bang, break, hit or even getting hit. But we’re not so aware of our emotional pain, such pain in the form of rejection, a break up, bullying, lack of encouragement, loss of a loved one, miscarriage and how other people make you feel the list goes on.
These are the ones we pretend don’t exist. But like a cut or broken bone you must look after them or they will deteriorate and cause more pain and discomfort. The same also applies to emotional pain the more we let it build up the more it effects our lives.
As a result of this you may become somebody you don’t like being or experience feelings such as anger, aggressiveness, irritability, anxiousness, restlessness or on the other hand you become feeling sad or empty, anxious or hopeless. Either way you are not the only person to suffer, we all have someone who cares for us regardless as to what you may think and deep down and nobody likes to see someone suffering.
If left untreated, complications can include:
- Weight gain or loss
- Anxiety/ depression
- Substance use problems
- Panic attacks
- Relationship problems
- Social isolation
- Sleep insomnia
